Arsenal Join United And Liverpool In Battle For 27 Goal Zambian Hitman

Arsenal are interested in signing Red Bull Salzburg striker Patson Daka, according to Far Post. The Zambian website claims that the Gunners have joined both Manchester United and Liverpool in keeping tabs on the 21-year-old.

Daka scored 27 goals in all competitions for Salzburg last season and has become a key first-team player under the management of Jesse Marsch over the past twelve months.

The Zambian international is also being tracked by Salzburg’s sister club RB Leipzig and the Bundesliga side would certainly be the favourites to sign him at the moment, as they are seeking a replacement for Timo Werner. However, there is also interest in the forward from clubs in France, with Lyon, Marseille and Lille said to be tracking the player.

Where Daka would fit into Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta’s plans, it remains to be seen. The Gunners boss has a whole host of attacking options at his disposal and the Salzburg striker may only be seen as a target if either Alexandre Lacazette or Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang left.
