Arsenal Join Two Teams Pursuing The ‘New De Ligt’ Who Has An ‘Uncertain Future’ In Italy

Arsenal, Bayern Munich and Barcelona are all keeping tabs on Juventus centre-back Dean Huijsen, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website says the 17-year-old has an “uncertain future” with the Italian club as talks over a new contract have yet to get started, despite the fact that he only has eighteen months remaining on his current deal.

Huijsen is composed on the ball and he is already 6ft 4, despite his young age, meaning he is a physically imposing presence at the back.

As he is Dutch, there have already been comparisons made to one of his fellow countryman, with Calciomercato calling him the “new de Ligt”.

Whether that description will stick, we shall have to wait and see, but it seems the Gunners are maintaining a watching brief on Huijsen. If talks with Juve over a new contract don’t prove fruitful, don’t be surprised if Arsenal make their move for the Netherlands youth international.
