Arsenal Join Two Clubs In Race For German World Cup Winning Midfielder

Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Sami Khedira, according to reports in Italy.

The Gunners are not the only team keen on the 32-year-old, though, with Valencia and Fiorentina also looking to sign the World Cup winner.

Khedira is one of the players Juve are considering letting go following the arrival of Aaron Ramsey and Adrien Rabiot this summer.

The Serie A champions have an abundance of central midfield players, with the likes of Miralem Pjanic, Emre Can, Blaise Matuidi and Rodrigo Bentancur also vying for places in the first team.

Khedira has been at Juventus for four years since moving on a free transfer from Real Madrid in 2015. The German has made 127 appearances during his time in Italy, scoring 21 goals and providing 13 assists.

His game time became increasingly limited during Max Allegri’s last season in charge, though, with various injuries and a heart issue restricting him to just 17 games in all competitions.
