Arsenal are tracking CSKA forward Fedor Chalov, according to reports in the English media.
The Russian international has been in good form this season, scoring 17 goals in 37 appearances for his club.
Chalov’s performances saw him gain recognition for his country as he made his debut for Russia’s senior side in the 3-1 defeat to Belgium back in March.
The Gunners are not the only team said to be interested in the 21-year-old with Sevilla and Monaco also keen on signing the player.
Chalov is not the tallest striker at 5ft 10 and he is at his best when the ball is at his feet. He is very good at quick link up play between teammates and is a consummate finisher.
The Russian wouldn’t be a direct replacement for Danny Welbeck as the striker doesn’t generally play out wide. He would likely be best suited to the two up top that Unai Emery employed at the back end of last season.
