Arsenal are interested in signing Lens striker Lois Openda, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The Belgian international has been in excellent form this campaign, having scored 17 goals in Ligue One; two more than Lionel Messi and four more than Neymar.
Openda only moved to Lens from Club Brugge for €10m last summer, but his performances are attracting attention from plenty of clubs.
In addition to the Gunners, both Aston Villa and Leicester have been credited with an interest in the 23-year-old, while Bundesliga side RB Leipzig are also said to be keeping tabs on the forward.
Whether Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta actually needs a player like Openda, it is debatable. Folarin Balogun, who has scored 18 for Reims in the same league this season, is returning to the club at the end of June.
With Gabriel Jesus and Eddie Nketiah already at the club, it’s hard to see where Openda would fit into Arteta’s plans.
