Arsenal Join Four PL Rivals In Pursuit Of “Special” Bundesliga Talent Who Has Just One Year Left On His Contract

Arsenal are one of five Premier League teams keeping tabs on Borussia Monchengladbach midfielder Florian Neuhaus, according to reports in England.

The German international will have just one year remaining on his contract at the end of the season and it looks as though the Gunners are considering whether to make a move for the player.

Liverpool have a longstanding interest in Neuhaus, as do Manchester City, while Chelsea and Newcastle are also believed to be tracking the 26-year-old.

Neuhaus is an all-action midfielder and his vast array of skills has previously led Sky Germany reporter Florian Plettenberg to tip the German for great things:

“This is something that makes him special, that he’s able to score goals and that he’s able to win tackles. This is a very, very important mixture, and you cannot find it so often if you look at the top, top midfielders in the world right now. So Neuhaus, in my mind, has the quality for the next big step, for the next big club, and I’m convinced that he will make the step to one of the top four, five, six teams in the world.”

Injuries have somewhat hampered Neuhaus’s development recently. A knee problem has limited him to just 18 appearances this season but, with the Gunners keen on strengthening their options in the middle of the park, it appears he is someone that Edu and Mikel Arteta are considering as a potential target.
