Arsenal are scouting Lille midfielder Carlos Baleba, according to reports in the English media.

The Gunners are said to have sent representatives to see the teenager in action, along with Manchester United, Liverpool, West Ham, Newcastle and Leicester.

Baleba only made his senior debut for Lille back in August, coming on for a late cameo appearance during the 4-1 win over Auxerre.

The Cameroon star has gone on to play 13 more games for the first team this campaign, although he has made just five starts.

Despite Baleba’s extremely limited experience, clubs have already taken notice of his ability, with Arsenal seemingly keeping a close eye on the player’s development.

If Mikel Arteta’s side do step up their interest and make a bid for the 19-year-old this summer, he won’t be available on the cheap. It is believed that Lille may still hold out for around £30m, even though he has yet to establish himself as a regular starter.
