Arsenal have sent scouts to watch RB Leipzig centre-back Ibrahima Konate in action, according to reports in Germany.
Chelsea and West Ham have also been tracking the 19-year-old, who has been in good form this campaign in the Bundesliga.
Konate joined Leipzig from Sochaux in the summer of 2017. He broke into the German club’s first team midway through his first season and hasn’t looked back since then.
The France Under 20 international has been everpresent this campaign, having made 27 appearances in all competitions, scoring three goals.
Konate has been part of a defence that has conceded just 18 goals in 20 matches in the league, the joint best defensive record in the Bundesliga, helping Leipzig to fourth place in the table.
Gunners boss Unai Emery is likely looking to recruit some younger players for the backline. Captain Laurent Koscielny is now 33, while Nacho Monreal will also turn 33 before the end of the season.
