Arsenal have made contact with the representatives of Manchester City striker Sergio Aguero, according to reports in the Argentinian media.

It was announced earlier this week that the 32-year-old will be leaving the Etihad on a free transfer when his contract expires in the summer, leading to a scramble for the player’s signature.

Initial reports from France suggested that Paris Saint-Germain, Chelsea, Manchester United and Inter Milan have already made offers to Aguero so it remains to be seen whether the Gunners would have any chance of snapping up the Argentinian international.

There have been contradictory claims over whether the forward is interested in staying in England or would prefer a move abroad. He is, of course, very familiar with Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta, who he worked with for over three years at City.

Whether the Spaniard’s relationship with Aguero will help bring the Argentine to the Emirates, though, it remains to be seen.
