Arsenal Join Chelsea And City In Race To Sign Former Emery Target Who Has Scored 9 Goals In 12 Games This Season

Arsenal “have their sights set on” RB Leipzig attacking midfielder Christopher Nkunku, according to Calciomercato.com.

The Italian website reports that the Gunners have revived their interest in the Frenchman, who was a target for previous manager Unai Emery.

Nkunku has moved from Paris Saint-Germain to Leipzig since then, having scored nine goals in 12 appearances for the Bundesliga club so far this campaign.

His performances have also attracted the interest of other clubs, with reports in Germany earlier this month claiming that the likes of Chelsea, Manchester City and Real Madrid are pursuing the 23-year-old.

Nkunku can pretty much play right across the front line, having been used on the left wing, as a number ten, as well as on the right flank by head coach Jesse Marsch this season.

With Arsenal still struggling to create chances in the final third of the pitch on a regular basis, despite the addition of Martin Odegaard in the summer, Nkunku could be needed to add more of a goal threat.
