Arsenal Interested In Cavani Again

Edison Cavani’s displeasure at playing second fiddle to Zlatan Ibrahimovic has reached a point that the former is considering an exit from Parc des Princes in January. The Uruguayan is still playing as a winger in a 4-3-3 formation despite being given assurances that manager Laurent Blanc will change formation to a 4-4-2 diamond, and occupy Cavani in a central attacking role alongside Ibrahimovic.

Wenger reportedly failed with a £50 million bid for Cavani during the last transfer window. However, the Frenchman will be monitoring his situation and will no doubt bid for his services in January, according to the Express.

Cavani is as lethal finisher as you can find in European football and scored more than 20 league goals for Napoli in Serie A for three consecutive seasons before joining PSG in 2013. He will bring a different dimension to Arsenal’s attack and could fire the Gunners to the league title.

With Giroud injured until New Year, Wenger signed Danny Welbeck from Manchester United, but there are doubts as to his finishing capabilities. A move for Cavani seems logical and necessary if Wenger wants his side to compete for trophies at home and abroad.
