£65M-Arsenal Attacker Issues Fresh Injury Update Amid “Tough To Process” Admission

Arsenal striker Kai Havertz revealed that he successfully underwent surgery on his hamstring after suffering a season-ending injury last week.

Havertz injured his hamstring whilst on a warm-weather training camp in Dubai as Arsenal had a week without fixtures.

It has meant that Mikel Arteta has been forced to play the likes of Mikel Merino and Leandro Trossard up front, both out of their natural positions.

The Gunners won 2-0 in their last game against Leicester, but could badly miss Havertz for the rest of the season, as he had scored 15 goals in all competitions.

The German international took to X to announce his successful surgery, and was quick to thank those around him.

He said: “The last few days have been tough to process both physically and mentally. But yesterday [Saturday] was a good day. A successful op and a win [for Arsenal]. Thanks for all the messages of support over the last few days, it’s really helped.

“I’m now focused on my journey to full fitness and giving all the support I can give to the team in the background.”

Arsenal will look to add another striker in the summer

Much of the talk surrounding the Gunners this season has been about their lack of depth at the striker position, and they had been linked to several attackers in the January window.

They failed to sign Aston Villa’s Ollie Watkins after making a bid for him, they also didn’t sign Wolves striker Matheus Cunha, who signed a new deal at Molineux.

The Gunners are now expected to move for a striker in the summer, with RB Leipzig striker Benjamin Sesko looking to be the most likely. Although, Newcastle striker Alexander Isak remains a top target too.
