Arsenal Injury Report Ahead Of The Match Against Liverpool

Arsenal should be boosted by the return of captain Granit Xhaka for the clash against Liverpool this weekend. The Swiss international missed the 2-1 win against Burnley last Saturday due to bruising in the lower back.

Mesut Ozil could also be back in the squad for the match at Anfield. The German playmaker has been pictured in training after recovering from an illness.

Rob Holding is stepping up his comeback from an ACL injury. The 23-year-old hasn’t played a competitive game since December after being stretchered off in the 2-2 draw against Manchester United.

After nine months out, he is expected to feature for the Under 23s against Everton on Friday, with a first team return likely within the next month or so.

Kieran Tierney is still on the treatment table, with a return to training pencilled in for the start of October following a groin problem. Konstantinos Mavropanos has a similar issue and is expected to be back within the same timeframe.

Hector Bellerin (knee) is said to be a month away from full fitness, according to manager Unai Emery, with his rehabilitation said to be going well.
