Will Bukayo Saka Play Against Man City? – Arsenal Injury News Ahead Of Huge Premier League Clash

Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka is currently dealing with a hamstring injury, but he is working to try and get back for the game against Man City this weekend.

Mikel Arteta’s side have had a good start to the season in the Premier League, winning three of their four games. Their last league game was a 3-0 win against Ange Postecoglou’s Nottingham Forest side at the Emirates.

The Gunners return to the Emirates this weekend, as they will welcome rivals Man City to North London, for the Guardiola and Arteta’s first meeting of the season. Both clubs won their opening games in the Champions League during the week too, so are both in good form.

However, Arsenal will be without star winger Bukayo Saka, who is recovering from a hamstring injury. It was hopeful that Saka could make his return for the Man City game seeing as it is such a crucial fixture. However, the England international, will likely have to wait until early October before he is playing again.

Arteta said earlier in the week: “I think there are still quite a lot of things to go through. It’s very early to understand when and which week he’s going to be available. But he will certainly be pushing to be available as quickly as possible.”

Who else is injured for Arsenal?

Saka isn’t the only Gunner that will likely miss the game on Sunday, as Gabriel Jesus and Kai Havertz both remain out with long term injuries. Jesus is expected to be out until November at the earliest, as he continues to recover from his ACL injury.

Havertz is back in training in a limited capacity, and is hoping to get back to action before November in an ideal world.

However, on the bright side for Arsenal, Ben White will most likely be available on Sunday. He is currently being assessed, and should be at least able to feature from the bench. Furthermore, Martin Odegaard was spotted in training this week, and so is expected to be available for Mikel Arteta too.
