Arsenal pair Riccardo Calafiori and Jurrien Timber have both been pictured in training ahead of the friendly against North London rivals Spurs.
The Gunners take on Thomas Frank’s team on Thursday in Hong Kong, but the two defenders had been doubts heading into the match.
Calafiori was forced off just after half-time during the 3-2 win over Newcastle at the weekend.
The Italian international picked up a knock to his knee and he was then pictured with a strapping in the mixed zone following the game.
Manager Mikel Arteta was hopeful that Calafiori had not sustained a serious issue and that has turned out to be the case.
Timber could make his first appearance since last season
Unlike Calafiori, the Dutchman has not played a single minute on the club’s tour of the Far East so far.
Timber underwent surgery on his ankle back in May, and he has been working hard on regaining his fitness since then. It appears that he is now back in full training and he could make the bench to face Tottenham at Kai Tak Sports Park.
There is still one notable absentee for Arsenal
Gabriel has still not been pictured in training, which suggests that the knock he sustained prior to the 1-0 win over AC Milan remains an issue.
The Brazilian international has recovered from a serious hamstring injury that required surgery back in April, but it appears he is facing a race against time to be fit for the club’s opening Premier League fixture against Manchester United.
While Gabriel’s absence will disappoint supporters, they will be heartened to see that two new signings, Viktor Gyokeres and Cristhian Mosquera, could be available for selection for the first time, having taken a full part in training.
