Arsenal defender Piero Hincapie has been left out of Ecuador’s squad for their friendlies against South Korea and Japan.

The 24-year-old’s omission was a surprise, as he was named on the bench for the Gunners’ 3-0 defeat to Brighton at the weekend.

However, it is believed that Hincapie’s fitness is being managed, and the decision was made not to take him so he can get back to 100%.

A groin strain meant the left-back missed the 4-2 win over Ipswich Town in the Carabao Cup last week.

Expected Return Date – Saturday 10th October vs Leeds (h)
