Jurrien Timber

Arteta says the Dutchman is working his way back to full fitness, but he has not returned to full training yet:

“He’s doing some stuff on the pitch at the moment, but we need to get the gears up and be able to do more things before he can compete with us.”

Timber suffered injuries to his ankle and groin during the victory against Everton in mid-March.

The defender has been on the treatment table for nearly two months.

Expected Return Date – Unknown

Mikel Merino

The midfielder is out of his protective boot, which he needed after undergoing surgery on a fractured foot in February.

Merino last played against Manchester United just over three months ago, but when asked if he could play again before the end of the season, Arteta was reluctant to put a timeline on his comeback:

“It’s a bit premature to say that He’s evolving really well. He’s really pushing every boundary that he possibly can.”
