Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Martin Odegaard could be out “for a while” after suffering ankle ligament damage.

The Gunners boss refused to put a timeframe on his return but subsequent reports have indicated that the Norwegian may be sidelined for two months.

There is some doubt as to when Odegaard will return in November so there is a chance that the captain won’t miss all 12 games.
