Arsenal Given Massive Injury Boost With £65M Signing Set For ‘Earlier Than Expected’ Return To Action

Arsenal forward Kai Havertz is making excellent progress in his recovery from a knee operation, according to reports.

Insider source HandofArsenal claims that the German international is set to make an “earlier than expected” return to full training.

Havertz underwent surgery shortly after the opening day win against Manchester United in August, so he has already been sidelined for two months.

Gunners boss Mikel Arteta was less than forthcoming on how long the 26-year-old would be out for, initially stating he would be on the treatment table for “weeks” before changing his description to “months”.

However, Havertz, who joined from Chelsea for £65m in 2023, is now said to be in the “final phase” of rehabilitation.

When can we expect to see the Arsenal star back in action?

It should be emphasised to fans that, while Havertz is making rapid progress, he has yet to be seen back out on the grass.

As well as gymwork, the German will need to be put through his paces in individual training drills as well as getting involved in full-contract training with his teammates once again.

Even so, based on HandofArsenal‘s remarks, it seems there is a good chance that he will make his comeback prior to the November international break.

Arteta will welcome Havertz’s return

While Viktor Gyokeres is ostensibly the club’s first choice no.9, competition for places is needed, and Havertz will certainly give the Swedish international a run for his money.

If Gyokeres’s form doesn’t improve over the next few weeks or so, there is also a possibility that Arteta will favour Havertz to lead the line as and when he makes his return to action. From the sound of things, it seems it won’t be long before he is back in contention for team selection once again.
