Arteta did initially claim that the Dutchman could be in contention to play against Southampton, along with captain Martin Odegaard.
However, unlike Odegaard, Timber did not return for the FA Cup tie. He has been sidelined with an ankle injury since the win over Everton last month.

Leandro Trossard
The winger pulled out of international duty with a hip problem that has been troubling him since the win over Mansfield Town in the 5th round of the FA Cup.
Trossard started the Carabao Cup final, but he wasn’t 100% fit, and it is not certain when he will be available again.

Piero Hincapie
The Ecuadorian returned early from international duty after being substituted during a 1-1 draw against Morocco.
Arteta has confirmed that Hincapie sustained a major injury, but he could not provide a timeframe for how long the defender could be sidelined for.
