Arsenal Injury News for FA Cup Game vs Manchester City

It’s time for Arsenal injury news, as the Gunners look towards their massive FA Cup fourth round tie against last season’s Premier League champions – Manchester City. Can Arsenal stop Pep Guardiola’s men?

Mikel Arteta is likely to be without three of his first team players for the game on Friday. Two will definitely miss out, while the other is a major doubt and most probably will not play.

Mohamed Elneny has a small chance of featuring against Manchester City, as he is still suffering from a knee injury (per Football.London). It’s unlikely that he’ll play, given that he did not make the bench for Arsenal’s previous fixture against Manchester United. Currently, the Egyptian has no set return date.

Gabriel Jesus is one of Arsenal’s long term absentees. He has been out of action since November and is not expected to return to training for ‘another four or five weeks’. While he’s been a huge miss for the Gunners, Eddie Nketiah has done an admirable job of filling the gaps.

Additionally, Reiss Nelson is also still out for the foreseeable future. He’s out with a hamstring injury, but is on the road to recovery, as documented on his Instagram page. When he sustained the injury, Arteta mentioned that he believed Nelson would be out for ‘a while’.

Manchester City do not have any new injury concerns for the game. Their only confirmed absentee is Benjamin Mendy, who is still suspended by the club
