Updates On Jorginho, Calafiori And 4 More: Arsenal Latest Injury News And Expected Return Dates

Arsenal midfielder Jorginho has suffered a rib injury which forced him to miss the Gunners’ Champions League game against Real Madrid.

Mikel Arteta’s side travelled to Madrid on Tuesday to prepare for their game against the La Liga giants, which ended in a 2-1 win at the Bernabeu, to send them through to the Champions League semi-finals 5-1 on aggregate.

However, midfielder Jorginho didn’t make the journey as he is dealing with a rib injury which he suffered over the weekend against Brentford. It has caused him breathing difficulty, according to manager Arteta.

The Gunners’ boss said: “Jorgi, unfortunately, is not here after the incident over the weekend. He hasn’t recovered, so our thoughts are with him. He said he could not breathe properly, so it might be to do with one of the ribs. It is strange because Jorgi normally carries on, so that means it is something significant, I think.”

It is not yet clear as to how serious Jorginho’s injury is, but seeing as he had an issue breathing, it could be assumed that he will likely miss the next few games at least, if not, an extended period of time. His contract at the Emirates expires at the end of the season.

Expected return date – Unknown
