Arsenal winger Bukayo Saka was pictured with ice on his Achilles after being substituted just ten minutes into the second half of the 4-0 win over Ipswich Town at the weekend.

The 23-year-old had picked up the problem after a heavy challenge from Leif Davis, who was given a straight red card for the tackle by referee Chris Kavanagh.

Speaking in his post-match interview about Saka, manager Mikel Arteta played down the seriousness of the injury:

“[Saka] was a bit sore, but it’s nothing serious, so it’s good.”

Pressed on whether he was worried about Saka’s fitness after seeing him lying on the ground following the tackle, Arteta replied:

“Especially with the numbers that we have right now and especially when they are back to goal, because normally it’s the moment when the foot is planted, your weight is there, and you cannot really react to it, but he’s fine.”
