Kai Havertz

Havertz missed Arsenal’s win against Brentford last weekend after he suffered an illness, he is back in training and expected to return against Brighton.

It is likely that Havertz won’t start and Gabriel Jesus will start in place, as is said in our predicted XI, but expect the German to have some form of involvement.

Expected return date – Saturday 4 December vs Brighton (A)

Bukayo Saka

Star winger Saka suffered a hamstring injury during the Gunners’ 5-1 win against Crystal Palace at Christmas, he could miss a lengthy period of time which is a big blow for the Gunners.

Arteta said after Saka’s injury: “He had a procedure. Everything went well. But unfortunately, he will be out for many, many weeks. I think it will be more than two months. I don’t know exactly how much longer.”

Arsenal may decide to bring in a winger during the January transfer window in order to make up for the loss that they suffered with Saka.

Expected return date – Unknown

Takehiro Tomiyasu

Japan international Tomiyasu has been recovering from a long-term knee injury that he suffered during the summer whilst on international duty.

He has been back in training, but will need to build up his fitness before he can work his way into the first team again.

Arteta said: “Tomi has done some stuff on the pitch, but we have to see. It has been a long-term injury, and we have to see how quick he progresses and how he reacts.”

Expected return date – Saturday 18 January vs Aston Villa (H)
