Arsenal midfielder Bruno Guimaraes was forced off at halftime during the Community Shield win over Manchester City last weekend.

The Brazilian was spotted with an ice pack on his right thigh following his withdrawal from proceedings, and asked about the player’s fitness in his pre-match press conference on Thursday, manager Mikel Arteta said:

“Let’s see how it is, it’s evolving well, but let’s see for tomorrow.”

Guimaraes did not have much of a pre-season, having returned pretty late after his participation in the World Cup. He played just one friendly before starting against City.

Expected Return Date – Friday 21st August vs Coventry City OR Monday 31st August vs Aston Villa
