The forward had a setback in his recovery from knee surgery last month.
Germany boss Julian Nagelsmann confirmed the news and estimated that Havertz would be back before the end of the year.
However, a subsequent report has suggested that the 26-year-old may need a week or two more to return to full training.
The clash against Liverpool next month has been pencilled in but Havertz may have to wait until the FA Cup to make his next appearance.
