Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has revealed that Jurrien Timber was substituted as a precaution against Paris Saint-Germain.
The Dutchman was replaced by Jakub Kiwior at half-time on Tuesday night and, asked about the defender’s fitness after the game, Arteta said:
“He was unbelievable in the first half but he felt something muscular and he wasn’t certain. He’s played more minutes than we would have wanted in the past few weeks and we have to manage him.”
It’s unlikely that he will be risked against Southampton so he may only return after the international break.
