Arsenal Injury List Hits Double Figures AGAIN

Arsenal Injury List Hits Double Figures AGAIN

Arsenal suffered perhaps their most devastating injury so far this season on the weekend vs Norwich as Alexis Sanchez suffered a hamstring injury – this after Arsene Wenger had said that there was an issue with his hamstring and he might not play so as to protect him. The boss went against his better judgement selecting the Chilean attacker and “murphy’s law” struck as Sanchez had to leave the game with a hamstring injury which looks like it will keep him out for 3 weeks.

The other injuries in order of severity are as follows:

  • Midfielder, Francois Coquelin who has a knee injury and looks to be 2 months away from a return
  • Forward, Danny Welbeck has a knee injury and is seemingly 5 weeks away from a return barring any setbacks which there could be as he is yet to play so far this season
  • Midfielder, Jack Wilshere who has an ankle injury and has been out all season and is likely to be back on the field in 5 weeks
  • Midfielder, Tomáš Rosický is recovering from a knee injury and is slated to return in 4 weeks
  • Defender, Laurent Koscielny has got over his hip injury almost completley now and is slated to return any time now
  • Forward, Theo Walcott could be completely over his calf strain and is ready to return any day now
  • Midfielder, Mikael Arteta is fast recovering from a calf strain and he could be back on the weekend after a substantial amount of time on the sidelines
  • Defender, Kieran Gibbs has a calf strain and at this stage his return is unknown
  • Midfielder, Santi Cazorla has a knee injury and is perhaps the greatest loss to the side right now as he has been in sublime form this campaign and his return at this point is also unknown.

Our thanks to The Arsenal Report for some of the injury news and we can only hope that some returns come faster than expected and that the likes of Sanchez, Cazorla, Coquelin and Walcott are able to get back on the field very soon in their best form as regardless of new winter window signings Arsenal need these key players back ASAP.
