Arsenal In Race With Three Other Teams For Ivorian International Winger

Arsenal are interested in signing Lille winger Nicolas Pepe, according to L’Equipe (via the Mirror).

However, the Gunners are not the only club looking to sign the Ivorian international with Lyon, Sevilla and Real Betis also tracking the player.

Pepe is highly rated by Lille and it is believed they rejected an offer of €35m (£31.6m) from an unnamed team in the summer.

Lyon have been the club most heavily linked with the 23-year-old. L’Equipe reported last month that the wide man was one of two transfer priorities for the French side, along with Celtic’s Moussa Dembele.

No transfer materialised before the window closed on August 31st, and it seems Arsenal are now weighing up a bid of their own.

This campaign, Pepe has been in good form with one goal and three assists from the opening four league fixtures. He was also excellent for Lille last season, scoring 14 goals in all competitions for the Ligue One club.
