Arsenal In Pursuit Of ‘New Jack Wilshere’

Daniel Crowley has already attracted attention from the likes of Arsenal in spite of being just 15 years of age, and has been dubbed the ‘new Jack Wilshere’. He is regarded as the finest talent produced from the famed Aston Villa academy in recent times.

According to Metro, the Gunners have been monitoring the progress of the wiz kid for a few months and Wenger recently sent his scouts to watch Crowley in action for the England U-17’s on Monday night. Even though England lost 2-1 to Russia, the playmaker impressed in the centre of the park.

The report states that Wenger has gone a step further by asking Villa to name their price for the 15-year-old. The youngster is considered to be a perfect fit at Arsenal, with his passing mentality and technical ability on the ball. He is the type of player who can unlock tight stubborn defences, a quality more attributed to a Spanish or Brazilian.

Arsenal are reportedly about to offer £1 million for Crowley’s services, a huge amount considering he is just a youth player. Most young players are allowed to move on for a meagre £200,000, a term known as ‘training compensation’ as per FIFA.

And it is no surprise that Arsenal are willing to pay five times that amount, as the technician is regarded as one of England’s finest. The Gunners are expected to include lucrative bonuses and add-ons depending on the player’s performances, in order to convince the Villans to sell.

However, Arsenal will have to contend with interest from both Manchester clubs as well as Chelsea, and even Italian giants Juventus are tracking the player. Apart from that, the report states that Crowley would reject any move from the Gunners at this stage of his career and prefers to extend his development at Villa Park.
