Arsenal In Pole-Position To Sign Napoli Star, Lorenzo Insigne

Wenger seems determined to spend big this summer as Arsenal are looking to put together a strong squad. The newest target who made the Frenchman’s list comes from former Champions League rivals, Napoli. Insigne has made the transfer list but is still not convincing enough according to Metro. Apparently, The Gunners will wait and see how the 23 year old handles the pressure of World Cup games.

Wenger will have a lot to see right from the beginning considering Italy will face England, Uruguay and Costa Rica in the group stages of the World Cup. Apparently Arsenal are ready to pay just short of £20 million for Insigne who had a great season with Napoli. His attacking abilities and his versatility would make him a great addition to the Gunners’ squad which can be pretty thin especially with players getting injured on a regular basis.

Insigne who has spent all of his professional career in Italy managed just short of 100 appearances for Napoli. Even though he was sent on loan for the first three years of his senior career, he still managed to come back strong and become a team regular for the team which signed him in 2009. After spending 5 years in Serie A, Insigne might be tempted to move to the Premier League. The Italian international who is just 5 ft. 4 will represent a great alternative for both the left and the right side of the pitch. He can also play in front of goal probably alongside Giroud, thus making the Frenchman’s task to score a lot easier than last season.
