Arsenal In Line To Swoop Mario Mandzukic Ahead Of United

Arsenal may finally get the extra fire power needed to finish this season on top. With Walcott out and with Bendtner not close to delivering what is expected of him, Mario Mandzukic could be a great player to sign. Wenger has been looking to find someone with a similar profile to that of Giroud in order to both help and replace the Frenchman whenever the situation demands it.

According to Metro, Bayern Munich admitted to the fact that their player is no longer part of Guardiola’s future plans. Mandzukic who scored 25 times in 40 appearances has always had good goal scoring numbers on his side. He is a natural striker which is exactly what the Gunners need.

The Croatian international who has been with the German side since 2012 is certain of his departure after Beckenbauer’s statements which were not in the player’s favor.

Wenger will have to fight with Manchester United for the striker’s signature. The Champions are always looking for quality players like most teams and Mandzukic seems like the best striker currently available on the market.

The 27 year old who is still under contract with Bayern until 2016 is valued at about £18 million. He would definitely be of great help to the Gunners who need someone to have Giroud’s back especially after the Frenchman sustained some minor injuries due to fatigue.

Hopefully for Arsenal, the Croatian will move to North London before the end of January and help the Gunners win the Barclays Premier League and a Cup competition.
