McNeil - Burnley

Arsenal are among the clubs keeping a watchful eye on Burnley winger Dwight McNeil, according to reports in the UK.

Manchester City, Everton and Newcastle have also sent scouts to see the 19-year-old in action with the midfielder having excelled in recent weeks in Sean Dyche’s side.

McNeil made his senior debut on the last day of the 2017/18 season in the 2-1 home defeat to Bournemouth. He then made his second league appearance against Manchester United back in September.

However, the teenager only became a regular in the Burnley side after Christmas, featuring in every single match for the Clarets since the 5-1 home defeat to Everton on Boxing Day.

McNeil’s emergence as a regular first-team player coincided with Burnley’s upturn in form. They were relegation candidates at the turn of the year, but since the mauling by Everton, they have won eight games, drawn three and lost four.

During that time, McNeil has scored three goals and provided five assists, helping his side move up to 14th in the table with four games to go.
