Arsenal are interested in signing Juventus midfielder Arturo Vidal. The Gunners want the Chilean for around £30 million, but this is a lot less than Juventus’ £40 million valuation of the player.

Vidal has been at the centre of attention in the last few days after being involved in a road collision that is believed to be as a result of drink driving. He is currently on international duty with Chile in the Copa America.

The Juventus midfielder’s agent has reportedly held talks with the Gunners, and the Serie A champions are believed to want around £40 million for his services.

Vidal has been on the radar of many clubs in Europe over the last few years. Whilst he was a target of Manchester United’s last summer, this summer he has been identified as a potential target for Real Madrid. Los Blancos have since receded their interest in the midfielder, which could open the door for the player to move to Arsenal.

At 28 years old, Vidal is at the peak of his game and at the right price he would be a top class addition for any club. As far as Arsenal are concered, Vidal would slot right into the first team and become one of the finest central midfielders in the league.

It is unclear what stance both clubs have on this transfer, or indeed what Vidal has his heart set on. It would be difficult to persuade the Italian outfit to part with their player, especially as they look set to lose Pirlo and potentially Pogba this summer, two of their finest midfielders. However, if Arsenal’s interest is sincere, there is no reason why a move to London could not materialise.
