Arsenal In For Liverpool Swap

The fact that Walcott did not extend his contract might not be just related to salary negotiations. According to the Daily Express, Liverpool look interested in signing Arsenal’s winger who has been under heavy criticism for not being able to become a team regular even though he started playing for the Gunners back in 2006. The 26 year old who is one of the most fragile players in the Premier League’s history seems to have run out of luck since Sanchez came to London. He finds it harder and harder to find his spot which should have already been established over the 9 years spent at the Emirates.

The England international’s contract is set to expire next year and negotiations are not going well. One reason behind that might be the player’s desire to have a change in scenery. Liverpool look keen on jumping on this opportunity. Rumors have it that Sterling might be offered to the Gunners after the 20 year old refused to go through with his contract extension. The Jamaican born winger who has caught the eye of Real Madrid as well could be a solution for Wenger who could probably help Sterling become a world class right winger.

Walcott has a lot to think about considering his contract is to end in the next couple of years. He will have great difficulty getting his spot back from Sanchez and he will have an even harder time playing on the left of down the middle as a second striker. Hopefully, a solution will be found as Walcott is a big part of Arsenal’s recent history.
