Arsenal In Danger Of Losing Wonderkid To PL Rivals, Jack Wilshere Has Called Him “Unplayable”

Arsenal could lose teenage midfielder Ethan Nwaneri to a Premier League rival, according to the Daily Telegraph reporter Sam Dean.

The journalist claims both Chelsea and Manchester City are pursuing the 15-year-old who could sign a scholarship contract with another team when he turns 16 later this month:

Nwaneri became the youngest player to make his debut in the Premier League when he came on as a substitute during the 3-0 win over Brentford in September.

The teenager hasn’t made an appearance for the first team since then but, after a match against Manchester United for the Under 18s back in December, he was praised by his manager Jack Wilshere:

“In the second half, he was very good. He was unplayable at times. He had a few good moments. In the second half, a lot of players stepped up a level, we found some more space.”

Whether Nwaneri will choose to leave the Hale End academy, we shall have to wait and see. By giving him his debut earlier this season, the Gunners were hoping to show the player that there is a path to first-team football but the fact that he hasn’t signed a contract does suggest his future could lie elsewhere.
