Tottenham are now leading Arsenal, Manchester City and Juventus in the race to sign Fiorentina striker Dusan Vlahovic, according to reports in the Italian media.
It was claimed last week that the Gunners had held talks with Fiorentina about the Serbian international, who is believed to be valued at around €80m (£68m) by the Viola.
However, Spurs believe that the appointment of Antonio Conte as manager, and the strong Italian contacts that sporting director Fabio Paratici possesses, will hand them an advantage in securing Vlahovic’s signature.
Whether that is, in fact, true, we shall have to wait and see. Arsenal do seem to be stepping up their attempts to find a new striker. Vlahovic is not the only forward who has been linked with the Emirates over the past week.
Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic, Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak and Racing Genk’s Paul Onuachu are just three others that have been mentioned as potential targets in recent days.
