Arsenal are targeting a summer move for River Plate attacking midfielder Juan Quintero, according to reports in the Spanish media.
The Colombian international has a €22m (£19m) buyout clause with the Gunners seeing the player as value for money.
Arsenal are reportedly keen to get Mesut Ozil off the wage bill with Quintero being seen as an economical replacement.
The 26-year-old struggled to establish himself during his last spell in Europe both at Porto and on loan at French side Rennes.
Quintero was initially loaned out to River Plate before making the move permanent for €3.5m at the beginning of January.
Despite his problems at club level, he has become an influential player for Colombia over the past year.
Since returning from a three-year exile in the international setup last March, Quintero has become a regular in the first team.
The midfielder featured in all four of Colombia’s games at the 2018 World Cup where they lost out on penalties to England in the last 16.
