Arsenal Hoping To Land Costa Rican Sensation Keylor Navas

As announced by the club’s official site, Arsenal will have to depend on one single goalkeeper up until a transfer is made. With Fabianski and Viviano set to leave in the following days, Szczesny is the only one left to fill the keeping spot. After being linked to Ochoa, the Gunners are now considering Levante’s Keylor Navas. The Costa Rican international will not be joining Wenger’s side anytime soon considering his team made it to the quarter finals of the World Cup in Brazil. Negotiations may be underway as Navas’s £6.5million buyout clause is more than affordable for a club with a £100million transfer budget.

Wenger will have to move fast as Atletico and Liverpool also fancy the 27 year old who up until now only performed in La Liga. In his 9 year professional career, the Costa Rican did not make as many appearances as you would expect. He is at an average of 9-10 appearances per season which is very little for a goalkeeper. Apparently things have changed since moving to Levante. He has become a team regular who, according to the Daily Mail, is now the main target of several important clubs.

Arsenal should definitely try signing the 27 year old who would provide great competition for Szczesny. He would also provide great competition for Ochoa who after becoming a free agent is now considering his options. Both goalkeepers could come to Emirates as Arsenal need three stoppers to start the season.
