Arsenal Hoping To Generate 50M From Summer Sale Of Two Players

Arsenal are expecting to raise £50m from the sale of Matteo Guendouzi and Lucas Torreira in the summer, according to the Sun.

Both players are currently out on loan but the Gunners are not expected to keep them when they return at the end of the season. It is believed they are hoping to generate £25m from selling each player.

Whether that is likely, it remains to be seen. Guendouzi has been performing well in a struggling Hertha Berlin side this campaign so there is a higher probability of Arsenal getting the fee they want for the Frenchman.

However, the prospect of getting their money back on Torreira is pretty low. The Uruguayan international has not been a regular starter since moving to Atletico Madrid in October and, while a number of clubs in Italy will be interested in signing him, a £25m asking price may put them off.

Reports in the Italian media suggest Fiorentina are currently favourites for the 25-year-old but a lot can happen between now and the summer.
