Arsenal Hoping To Add 25M To Their Coffers Which Could Aid Their Pursuit Of James Maddison

Arsenal are waiting for a final decision from Joe Willock after agreeing to sell the 21-year-old to Newcastle, according to 90min.com‘s Graeme Bailey.

The journalist claims the Gunners are ready to sell the midfielder to the Magpies for around £25m (including add-ons) but the player is still not convinced that a permanent move to Tyneside would be right for him:

Arsenal have reportedly told Willock that he is free to leave and if the transfer eventually goes through, it is very likely that the money will be used in their pursuit of James Maddison.

Other reports have suggested that Willock (along with Eddie Nketiah, Ainsley Maitland-Niles and Reiss Nelson) have all been offered to Leicester, but it seems the Foxes are only interested in a straight cash deal.

Considering Maddison’s price tag is believed to be in the region of £60m to £70m, selling Willock to Newcastle would go a long way to financing a move for the Leicester playmaker.
