Arsenal are in talks with Barcelona over signing Denis Suarez, according to the Mirror.
However, Gunners boss Unai Emery has admitted that the London club can only sign players on loan in January, and he wouldn’t be drawn on links to the Barca midfielder:
“I don’t know about his situation. But we can only sign players on loan. I know the club is working to find players who can help us, with this condition. I know these players and they are very good players. But I cannot sign more.”
Emery’s comments don’t rule out a move for Suarez as it is believed that Arsenal want a loan deal, with an option to purchase at the end of the season.
The Gunners are said to be prepared to pay £15m in the summer for the 25-year-old, but Barca reportedly want a permanent deal this month.
With that being case, there is no guarantee that a move for Suarez will be finalised before the end of the transfer window.
The likes of West Ham have also been linked with the Spaniard, but the player is said to be keen to link up with Emery who he was managed by at Sevilla.
Suarez has barely featured for Barcelona, having played just six games in all competitions this season.
