Arsenal Have Ruled Out Bid To Sign 12 Goal La Liga Marksman Despite Claims Of 58.7M Swoop

Arsenal are NOT interested in signing Espanyol striker Raul de Tomas, according to The Athletic journalist James McNicholas.

Reports in Spain have suggested that the Gunners may consider a move for the 27-year-old, who has scored 12 league goals this season, but there are no plans to pursue the forward:

De Tomas is believed to have a €70m (£58.7m) release clause, which could have made him an attractive target, but Arsenal are reportedly looking at other options, with McNicholas suggesting that the Spanish international’s age is an issue.

While the Gunners have been actively pursuing Fiorentina’s Dusan Vlahovic for a number of months, the Serbian international has shown no interest in moving to the Emirates.

As McNicholas mentions, Everton’s Dominic Calvert-Lewin and Real Sociedad’s Alexander Isak are the club’s other long-term targets but, if deals can’t be agreed this month, a loan move for Real Madrid’s Luka Jovic is also being explored.
