Arsenal have “offered” a five year deal to Shakhtar Donetsk winger Mykhaylo Mudryk, according to French reporter Abdellah Boulma.
The journalist claims that the Gunners are keen to agree personal terms with the 21-year-old ahead of a potential switch before the transfer window shuts:
Comme déjà évoqué, le très convoité Mykhaïlo #Moudryk 🇺🇦 est en négociations pour une arrivée à Arsenal.
Transfert avoisinant un montant de 30 millions d’euros.
Contrat de 5 ans a été proposé au joueur.— Abdellah Boulma (@AbdellahBoulma) August 31, 2022
Boulma says that Mudryk could cost around €30m (£26m) but there have been conflicting reports over whether Arsenal would be prepared to match the Ukrainian international’s asking price. CBS Sports reporter Ben Jacobs has reported that the London club’s opening bid was at least £10m below Shakhtar’s valuation
There is also a possibility that the Gunners may pull the plug on the deal entirely. Mohamed Elneny’s hamstring injury means Mikel Arteta’s side are expected to prioritise a move for a midfielder (ahead of a winger) with the transfer deadline fast approaching and that could mean a bid for Mudryk is put on ice until a later date.
