Arsenal have “looked” into signing Paris Saint-Germain defender Thilo Kehrer this summer, according to Footmercato.net.
The French website claims that the 24-year-old is at risk of losing his first-team place, following the arrivals of both Sergio Ramos and Achraf Hakimi.
Kehrer played 33 times in all competitions last season, and he is equally adept at playing as a centre-back or right-back. It may be the case that the Gunners were considering him before they made a move for Brighton’s Ben White or there is a possibility that they are still looking at the defender as a potential replacement for Hector Bellerin.
The German international, who has eight caps for his country, is certainly an adaptable player; something that manager Mikel Arteta is a big fan of, so we shouldn’t completely rule out a bid.
However, with Arsenal’s focus being on securing a deal for White, it does seem unlikely at this stage that they’ll make an approach for Kehrer.
