Arsenal have made an enquiry for AC Milan midfielder Franck Kessie, according to reports in the Italian media. The Ivorian has been linked with a move away from the San Siro, with West Ham, Tottenham and Everton all having been credited with an interest in the player.
It appears that the Gunners made the first move by reportedly contacting Milan about Kessie, but it seems the enquiry was knocked back. The 22-year-old was said to be a player that the Rossoneri would consider offloading this summer to free up transfer funds, but it seems they have had a change of heart.
Arsenal have also been considering a move for another midfielder from Italy with Juventus’s Sami Khedira said to be a target.
However, it seems the Gunners’ main priority over the next few days is to strengthen the backline with a new centre-half and left-back. The transfer window shuts on Thursday.
