Arsenal have made an enquiry about signing Verona defender Marash Kumbulla, according to reports in the Italian media.
The Albanian international has come to the attention of a number of English clubs, with the likes of Manchester United and Chelsea having watched the centre-back in recent months.
However, it is believed that Everton are currently leading the battle to sign Kumbulla while RB Leipzig and Inter Milan are also said to be keen on the player.
The only club so far, though, to have made a formal offer for the 20-year-old is Napoli who reportedly had a €20m bid (with €4m in add-ons) rejected by Verona. It is believed that the Serie A side are holding firm on their €30m (£27m) valuation.
Whether the Gunners would be able to meet their asking price, it remains to be seen. The London club have also been linked with centre-halves such as Athletic Bilbao’s Unai Nunez ad Reims’ Axel Disasi who could fetch similar amounts.
