Arsenal Have Backup Plan In Case Khedira Joins Chelsea

Real Madrid will not keep Sami Khedira around for the remaining months of the season. With the transfer period around the corner, the German midfielder will have to decide which road to take. Arsenal have been linked repeatedly with the World Cup winner who was rumored to be dropping his financial expectations just to come to the Emirates. Even so, the transfer never went through with money being the biggest problem regardless of the party that had the problem. According to the Daily Star, Wenger will try as much as possible to avoid the situation with which he was faced during the summer.

Chelsea and Manchester United are also looking to sign Khedira and also have the financial resources to satisfy Khedira’s expectations. Arsenal will have to put up quite the fight if they want to have a chance at signing Real’s player. Christoph Kramer is a viable alternative though as long as the 23 year old is up for a move. The young midfielder has expressed his desire to move on several occasions and is looking forward to leaving the Bundesliga. The Premier League could be a gamble for him though considering he has yet to prove he is ready to keep up with the constant pressure of a continuous schedule of matches. There are only a few weeks until the transfer period starts. Wenger will have to move fast in order not to lose Kramer who has attracted a lot of attention while playing for Borussia Monchengladbach as a temporary member of the team.
