Arsenal Handed Massive Injury Boost Ahead Of North London Derby

Arsenal manager Mikel Arteta has confirmed that Bukayo Saka is “fine” despite the winger picking up a knock during the 3-0 win over Oxford United in the FA Cup on Monday night.

The 21-year-old went down in the first half after failing to get the best of defender Ciaron Brown as he tried to win possession of the ball.

Saka stayed on the pitch but he then went down again fifteen minutes before the end, needing more treatment by a physio before he was replaced by Emile Smith Rowe. Asked about the player’s fitness after the match, Arteta said:

“He’s fine, he’s okay.”

That will come as a huge relief to Gunners supporters who feared he may be a doubt for the game against Spurs this weekend.

The North London derby at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium will be a true test of Arsenal’s staying power in the title race and having Saka fit to face their fierce rivals will undoubtedly give them a greater chance of securing the three points.
