Arsenal Handed Injury Boost As Star Returns To Light Training

Arsenal midfielder Mohamed Elneny is back in light training, according to reports in the English media.

The Egyptian international has been sidelined since January after undergoing an operation on a serious knee injury.

Elneny is not expected to play again this campaign, but he is on schedule to be ready for the first day of pre-season in a couple of months’ time.

The Gunners have been pretty lucky with injuries in the fact that very few players have been on the treatment table, but the ones that have been absent have spent long spells on the sidelines.

Gabriel Jesus missed nearly three months due to a knee injury, Takehiro Tomiyasu won’t play again his season due to a similar problem and, most significantly, William Saliba has been out for nearly nine weeks with a back issue. The club are still hopeful that the Frenchman will play again before the final league fixture but that is looking increasingly unlikely.
